The Town of Oxford will be revising its website and you can help.

We are looking for recent photographs, taken within the Town of Oxford, featuring various aspects of life in the town including work, play, events, landscapes, etc.

CONTEST RULES

  1. This contest requires online submissions. To enter complete a separate online entry form for each photograph entered; attach your photographs (accepted file formats include jpg, jpeg or png); attach written consents (if applicable) and submit (in pdf, doc, or docx formats). Maximum number of entries per person is five (5).
  2. Entries must be received by December 31, 2018. The Town of Oxford takes no responsibility for lost or incomplete entries.
  3. There is no entry fee.
  4. To be eligible to win, a photograph must have been taken within the boundaries of the Town of Oxford, Nova Scotia.
  5. Entries must be colour digital photographs. Moderate digital adjustment (colour correction, cropping, sharpening, etc.) is acceptable, but any image with a watermark or signature will be automatically disqualified. Photographs should be original material (high resolution files) for reproduction purposes, so pictures can be published. Entries are to be submitted as jpg, jpeg or png files. Digital files must be no less than 500kb and no more than 3MB in size.
  6. The photographer requires the written consent of all individuals in the photo and consent from individuals who own personal property (buildings, gardens, etc) featured in the photograph and must be submitted with your entry. It is the responsibility of the contestant to ensure that publication of the photographs by the Town of Oxford raises no legal claims. The photographer must own all rights to any photographs entered in this contest.
  7. By submitting photographs, the photographer grants to the Town of Oxford, Nova Scotia the right to publish any selected entries along with the photographer's name for marketing and promotional purposes. The photographer will not receive compensation for such publication. All submitters also agree that their photograph entries may be used in print or electronic form to promote Oxford by other means in addition to the website.
  8. No person may win more than one prize.
  9. Two categories of submissions will be used. Professional/semi-professional and Non-Professional/Amateur entries will be judged separately. Professional/semi-professional photographers are any photographers who earn more than $5,000 annually selling their photographs.
  10. The Town of Oxford may or may not use any or all the submissions. The names of the winners will be published by the Town and shared with local media. Before being awarded a prize, each winning photographer will be required to sign an agreement declaring that: (a) they are or are not a professional; (b) the photograph submitted is their original work; (c) the photograph was taken at the location specified on the entry form, (d) they will abide by any other requirements set out in these Contest Rules.
  11. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. Winners are responsible for picking up their prizes at the Town Hall, Oxford, Nova Scotia.
  12. ELIGIBILITY: The Oxford Photo Contest is open to all members of the public including employees and Council Members of the Town of Oxford and their immediate families, except for those judging the submissions. Only the photographer has the right to submit a photograph. Prizes will be awarded to the photographers.
  13. JUDGING: Entries will be judged by a panel. The decisions of the judges are final. Winners will be notified by telephone or email. By submitting the online entry form, the photographer consents to the entry of their submission and agrees to abide by the contest rules.
