Mayor, Council and Staff of the Town of Oxford would like to give this statement in regards to the recent passing of our former Mayor Lloyd Jenkins.
"The Town of Oxford is mourning the loss of former long-time Mayor Lloyd Jenkins. Lloyd Jenkins, a former Mayor and educator at the Oxford Regional High School, had an incredible impact on our Town. As a Mayor, Mr. Jenkins was a community champion who took great pride in our Town. His passion for serving others will not be forgotten. Mr. Jenkins was first elected to the Oxford Town Council November 13, 1980 and served our community as Mayor starting November 14, 2000 for 12 years. Our deepest condolences go to Lloyd Jenkins’s family and all those he touched throughout his life.”

Water break update: repairs have been made with out shutting the water off, crew will be back filling hole
Tomorrow morning, Wednesday July 13, 2022 starting around 8:30am
Public works will be fixing a water break on New Hansford Road.
Affected areas will be Horton street, New Hansford Road and Pugwash Road.
We do not have an estimated time of repair at this time.

Oxford Town Council will be hosting a Special Council Meeting on Monday July 11 at 6 pm to discuss Town Business.
A few topics of discussion will include approval of the Water and 5 year Capital Budgets, Water Review Study, Second Reading of the Deed Transfer Tax and introduction of the Policing Review Committee Members.

The Town of Oxford would like to remind everyone that the Transfer Station will be open Thursdays starting July 7th until September 1st, 2022, from 11am to 7pm!

Please be advised that on Tuesday July 5, 2022, starting at 7:30am, Town of Oxford Public Works will be commencing the repair of two watermains on Little River Road. This will affect Sunset Avenue and Crescent Avenue.
Water will be run after these repairs to help flush the system. Traffic Control will be in place for these repairs.
Please plan for short delays. Thank you in advance for your patience.

**Attention there is an unanticipated watermain break - FOUNDRY St.** Water will be turned off in the area of Foundry at approximately 9am. This will only affect the immediate area of Foundry St. Sorry for the interruption. At this time we do not have an ETA on the length of time water will be off as we do not know the severity of the watermain break..
Please be advised that there will be a temporary water interruption on Wednesday
June 22, 2022, commencing approximately at 8:30am for repairs to the water
services on Foundry St.
This temporary interruption will only affect residents and businesses in the Foundry St. area.
Currently, we do not have an ETA on the length of the interruption.

Starting July 7, 2022, the Town of Oxford Transfer Station will be open on Thursday from
11 am to 7 pm each week until September 1, 2022, when it will return to normal hours on Thursdays.
Hours will remain the same for Friday’s 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday’s 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Please note: Should the following holidays fall on any of the above days, the Transfer Station will be CLOSED on that day:
New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Canada Day, Labour Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, or Boxing Day.
WHAT’S ACCEPTED: Recyclables, Scrap Metal, Organics Leaf & Yard Waste Residual Waste.
WHAT’S NOT ACCEPTED: Construction and Demolition Debris - wood, shingles, insulation, building materials, etc. Household Hazardous Waste.
